computers for education
"From versatile desktop computers, durable notebooks, and powerful dual processor systems, to dedicated servers and storage devices, Apple offers solutions for every education need." says apple.
Apple want to do a program for schools that consist in give computers to the school and the students can use it at any time of the day.
"The Xserve G5 is a 1U rack optimized server that delivers dual 64-bit 2.3 GHz PowerPC G5 processors with over 35 gigaflops of processing power per system. Xserve provides a 1.15 GHz frontside bus per processor for up to 9.2 GBps of bandwidth per processor, and up to three 500 GB drives, for a total of 1.5 TB of hot-plug storage. These high performance servers, designed for the UNIX-based capabilities of Mac OS X Server, provide a secure and stable network environment for schools.
You don’t have to use Solaris, or Windows, or Linux to deliver Internet services. We’re doing it with Xserve servers because they offer rock-solid performance and a total cost of ownership that rivals anything we could put together on other platforms."

the uses of portable computer

one of the uses of the portable computers is the bluetooth
"The new Apple PowerBook G4 portables are the first computers to offer Bluetooth 2.0+EDR. (Earlier aluminum and titanium PowerBook G4 models feature Bluetooth 1.x support.) Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, while still backwards-compatible with Bluetooth 1.x, is up to three times faster than its predecessors, offering a maximum data rate of 3Mbps. As the first company to certify a system supporting Bluetooth 2.0+EDR (enhanced data rate) specification with the Bluetooth Qualification Board, Apple continues to popularize Bluetooth technology."
